On December 14, 2021, a significant event took place – the VIII Congress of the Trade Union of Railway and Transport Builders of Ukraine, at which Oleksiy Semerunya was elected Chairman of the Union.

This time, the history of the union’s congresses has a new, extremely important page – thanks to the initiative of young people, a live broadcast of the event was organized for the first time. This step was an important manifestation of the desire for openness, transparency and maximum involvement of union members in democratic processes.

The delegate from the Union’s Youth Council took the initiative to set up the online broadcast, provided technical support and distributed the link to the event to everyone. Thus, every member of the union – regardless of their location – could personally observe the course of the congress and the procedure for electing the head.

This decision was warmly welcomed by the congress delegates and trade unionists from all over Ukraine. And most importantly, it was a vivid example of how the younger generation of trade unionists is implementing modern tools to build trust and unity in the organization.
