Gifts that make a difference: rollerblades for children of vulnerable railway workers.

Thanks to the support of the ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) and Help Ukraine Center USA (HUCUS) as part of the humanitarian program to help trade union families, children of railway workers from the most vulnerable categories received rollerblades.

💡 The Youth Council of the Trade union of Railwayman and transport construction workers of Ukraine, having received a quota from the union, gladly joined the initiative and took over the coordination of the distribution of aid. The videos were distributed through the heads of regional youth councils, who took part in compiling the lists and delivering the aid in person.

This ensured targeting and personal support to the families.

“There was a lot of work: urgent collection of information about the size and gender of the child, then delivery, packaging, delivery to primary care centers, and the heads of the regional youth councils distributed the aid to the children. Many received them for St. Nicholas Day under their pillows and for the New Year under the Christmas tree. Children are happy, parents are satisfied and grateful for the gifts. I feel satisfied with this,” says Raisa Borysenko, head of the youth council of the Kryvyi Rih territorial trade union organization.
