EDUCATIONAL WEBINAR: WHAT AGREEMENT TO SIGN?

In April 2024, the Youth Council of the Trade Union of Railway and Transport Builders of Ukraine together with the NGO “Labor Initiatives” held an educational webinar on “Fixed-term or indefinite employment contract: what is the difference?”

The goal is to help employees of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia understand the legal nuances of signing employment contracts and avoid violations of their labor rights.

  • When the employer has the right to enter into a fixed-term contract;
  • What to do if you are forced to sign a fixed-term contract for a permanent position
  • What are the advantages of an open-ended contract in the context of employee protection;
  • What support the trade union can provide in case of disputes;
  • The difference between a contract and a classic employment agreement.

🔑 The main advice of the speakers: do not sign a fixed-term contract if you are doing permanent work – insist on an indefinite contract. This will provide better legal protection, especially in case of possible dismissal or transfer.
