FROM SURVEYS 👉 TO SYSTEMIC SOLUTIONS

Back in 2020, the Trade Union Youth Council began to study sociological tools in depth as a way to understand the needs and demands of labor collectives. It was then that we realized that surveys are not just questionnaires, but an effective tool for influencing decisions.

In 2021, we conducted a survey on occupational safety and health among railway workers for the first time. Its results were publicly analyzed live by Alla Lazko, Head of the Regulatory and Analytical Division of the Labor Protection and Industrial Safety Department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC.

📌 In 2022, we took part in a survey conducted by the Labor Initiatives NGO on discrimination in the workplace. These data became the basis for a dialog about respect, equality and safety of employees. The results of this survey are available here.

🎯 In 2024, given the challenges of today, we initiated a new sociological study “Support for Veterans at Ukrzaliznytsia: Real State and Promising Areas of Work”. It was aimed at assessing the awareness of trade union activists on the issues of ethical communication and adaptation of veterans in the workplace.

🛠 In 2025, we are continuing this initiative and conducting another large-scale study. This time, it will focus on working conditions, quality of workwear and safety in the workplace. We strive to collect relevant data that will help us to defend the interests of employees in a dialogue with the employer and implement real changes.
